We Walk the Line CIC is honoured to announce the second year of Wake Up and Smell the Coffee in Colchester,
In 2018 we will continue to provide holistic support, motivation and vocational skills training for young people and the long term unemployed in Colchester to develop more positive outlook on life with improved confidence and self esteem with a view that our beneficiaries progress to further training, education or employment.
The grant from Essex Community Foundation provides funding for a Mentor to to provide holistic 1:1 support to our beneficiaries, encourage self reflection, help mentees identify areas for self development and act as a sounding board and critical friend. They provide a link and an advocate to local services, to share knowledge and understanding of common situations and problems faced by our beneficiaries, linking our beneficiaries to specialist support when required.
We will also provide weekly personal social development workshops, provide an insight into the world of work, confidence building, financial management and offer guidance and advice in regards to qualifications needed and of course training in making a great cup of coffee!
Finally the mentoring provision provides advice on career development, future options, provides different perspectives and asks challenging questions to support our beneficiaries personal development and understanding of their situation.
